Police in Wisconsin say two adults and seven students were transported to medical facilities with minor injuries when a school bus and vehicle crashed Monday afternoon in Ellsworth.

A release from Ellsworth police said officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Main Street at around 3:45 p.m.

An initial investigation indicated the bus was stopped in the eastbound lane, with emergency equipment activated, dropping off a student when it was struck in the rear by a following vehicle.

The bus - owned by the Ellsworth School District - was occupied by the driver and 20 students at the time. The vehicle was occupied by the driver.

After the two adults and seven students were transported to seek medical attention, the remainder of the students were transported back to Ellsworth High School where they were reunited with their parents/guardians.
