2 Injured in Motorcycle vs. Deer Crash in Pierce County

Two people were taken to the hospital after their motorcycle collided with a deer Friday night.

The incident happened at 7:06 p.m. on Highway 35 near 452nd Street in Town of Maiden Rock.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Robert Hoth from Rochester was driving the motorcycle on Hwy. 35 when he hit a deer that entered the roadway.

The motorcycle ran into a ditch and overturned. Authorities report Hoth and his passenger, 50-year-old Claire Hoth, also from Rochester, were ejected.

The two were transported by air to the local hospital, and the sheriff's office said the extent of injuries is unknown.

The investigation continues.
