2 adults, 2 children killed in southern Minnesota crash

Two adults and two children were killed in a southern Minnesota crash Sunday night, according to an update Monday.

The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies responded to the area of County Road 15 and County Road 22 in Sharon Township at about 11:30 p.m. after receiving a report of the crash.

Deputies learned seven people, all from California, were in a 2012 Ford Expedition when that vehicle collided with a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. A driver from Le Sueur was the sole occupant of the Silverado, according to deputies.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 54-year-old man, 56-year-old woman, 13-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy, all from California, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people—a 41-year-old woman, 15-year-old boy and 7-year-old boy, all from California—were taken to area hospitals.

The Le Sueur driver was also taken to an area hospital.

The sheriff’s office reported alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
