A 14-year-old Stillwater girl is injured after she was hit by a semi Monday morning in Lake Elmo.

Authorities say the injures are not considered life-threatening even though she was pinned beneath the semi.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department reports authorities were called to the scene at Lake Elmo Avenue and 50th Street North around 9:23 a.m. Monday.

There, deputies found the girl had been traveling west on 50th Street North on bicycle when she was hit by the semi, which had been northbound on Lake Elmo Avenue. After the crash, the truck came to a rest in a ditch along Lake Elmo Avenue with the girl underneath.

The sheriff's office reports, "The truck tire (was) resting on the bike rider's leg."

Emergency responders were able to free her, and she was transported to the hospital. The matter remains under investigation.
