One person was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday night in Eden Prairie, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the incident report, the crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on Highway 101 near Choctaw Circle.

The State Patrol said a Honda Civic was southbound on Highway 101 when it veered into oncoming traffic and struck a Chevy Silverado head-on.

The State Patrol said the driver of the Honda died from injuries she suffered in the crash. The incident report identified the driver of the Honda as 23-year-old Ivania Elizabeth Batres of Edina.

The driver of the Chevy, identified as 36-year-old Joe Ryan Stephens, suffered injuries that are considered life-threatening.
