One person was injured in a collision involving a school bus in Douglas County Monday afternoon. 

According to a release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, a school bus was traveling on Aaron Heights Northwest when it struck a car that was backing out of a driveway.


The sheriff's office said the bus was on a portion of the road that was covered by ice and snow and was unable to stop.

The release said students from the Brandon/Evansville School District were on the bus. None of the children were injured in the crash.

The sheriff's office said the passenger of the vehicle that was struck was taken to an area hospital by a private vehicle for minor injuries.
