One person died and another was injured after a crash Sunday night in Dunn County, Wisconsin.

The Dunn County Sheriff's Office said it was called to the 3700 block of 420th Street in Menomonie Township at about 8:10 p.m. on reports of a crash.

Deputies learned a four-door sedan was headed south on 420th Street and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a group of trees, the sheriff's office said.

The vehicle was significantly damaged, and rescue crews had to extricate the driver. Lifesaving measures were attempted on scene, but the man was pronounced dead.

A male passenger in the vehicle was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.

The driver and passenger have not yet been identified publicly.

The crash remains under investigation.
