Five Eyewitness News anchor, Paul Folger, rounds out our Crocktober week with a recipe for Country Style Steak.

Ingredients:

1 pound beef cube steak (4 pieces)
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt (1/2 t table)
1.5 teaspoon black pepper (I like coarse ground)
2 cups broth ( generally low sodium chicken or beef)
½ cup chopped mushrooms
3 Tablespoons olive oil
Mix flour, salt and pepper and pour on a plate or gallon zip lock bag (take out 3 Tablespoons)
2 Tablespoons butter

Dip each steak in flour mixture coating both sides.

In a skillet heat up olive oil.

Brown both sides of cube steak. Then place in crockpot.

In your still hot skillet, melt the butter and sprinkle flower over it. Then add your stock and stir till it turns to gravy. Add your mushrooms and cook 4 minutes. Then pour over the steaks in the crockpot. Cook on low all day.
