The Olive Grove Olive Oil Recipes for the Holidays

Natalie Jaeger, owner of The Olive Grove Olive Oil in Mendota Heights, shares some recipes using the unique olive oil and balsamic vinegars you can find in her shop.


Tomato Pepper Pot Roast – I use our garlic olive oil and espresso balsamic vinegar.  This is like a traditional pot roast, but even better!  The addition of the espresso balsamic really makes it richer and the Calabrian peppers in the sauce I make to cook it in gives so much flavor.  Again, this is NOT spicy at all! 

Farro Salad with Beets, Pistachios and Cranberries I use our lemon olive oil.  One of my all-time favorite things to make.  Farro is an ancient whole grain and it digests slowly keeping you full longer.  Perfect to keep you full until dinner if you have for lunch. 

Festive Holiday Salad – Most of our customers like a sweet salad dressing.  I use the lemon olive oil and cranberry pear balsamic in this.  There’s fruit in the salad as well.  It’s nice to have something light and refreshing if you’re having this salad with a big hearty meal.  Perfect for holiday dinners!
