This week, Filip Johansson made the first of what Minnesota Wild fans and executives hope are many trips over the course of his career to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The 2018 first-round draft pick is one of a couple dozen players participating in the Wild's annual Development Camp for prospects.

The Wild selected the 18-year-old Swedish defenseman with the 24th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.

He spent the past four seasons playing for the Leksands club at various levels in Sweden.  He was with their Under-20 and Elite teams last season.  It's expected he'll split time between the two teams once again this winter.

The invitees to the Wild's camp at the Xcel Energy Center this week are a mix of players who are previous draftees, and college players who could be future draftees or free-agent signings.
