Wild GM Fenton, coach Boudreau review disappointing season

The Wild tied for 27th in the NHL this season with 210 goals, so you know that will be a big-time emphasis for general manager Paul Fenton this summer.

Fenton and coach Bruce Bodreau wrapped up the season on Tuesday with a news conference. Fenton confirmed what KSTP Sports reported last week: Boudreau will return as coach. He has 1-year remaining on his coaching contract, worth slightly under $3 million.

The Wild finished with 83 points, which is their worst season since 2011-12 and second-worst since 2003-04. They finished with the 11th-fewest points in the NHL, and finished last in their division.

The Wild will have a lot of cap space this summer, if they so choose to chase marquee free agents. It'll also be interesting to see if forward Jason Zucker gets traded. The Wild nearly moved him at the trade deadline in February, but the trade fell through at the last moment.
