31-year-old Minnesota United FC player Vito Mannone has been named the Major League Soccer 2019 Goalkeeper of the Year.

The award was voted on my MLS club technical staff, current MLS players, and media. Mannone edged out DC United's Bill Hamid, 17.67 percent to 13.33 percent.

Mannone played every minute this season for the Loons and stockpiled 15 wins, 129 saves, and 11 shutouts. The Loons only conceded 43 goals during the regular season, which ranked third lowest in the Western Conference.

Mannone joined Minnesota on loan from Reading. His future in Minnesota remains uncertain heading into this offseason, as he's not under team contract in 2020.
