Vikings Starting OL Nick Easton Lost For Season

August 09, 2018 05:23 PM

Vikings starting left guard Nick Easton is out for the year. He had surgery Thursday morning to repair a herniated disc in his neck.

Coach Mike Zimmer says Easton has a bulging disc in his neck. He hasn't practiced since Aug. 3.

Easton started 12 games in 2017. Tom Compton and Danny Isidora provide internal depth, and the Vikings are expected to call teams to inquire about potential trades, and they'll scour the free agent market.

Easton was acquired by the Vikings in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers before the 2015 regular season. He will be a free agent next March.
