Vikings coach Zimmer: 'I haven't seen much out of the defense yet'

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer didn't pull any punches at training camp on Thursday morning. In fact, he's noticed a lack of fire from his defense and wants them to have a more hard-nosed attitude like his offense has had so far at camp.

"Our offense has got a lot of grit and fight and I haven't seen much out of the defense yet," per Zimmer.

Although the Vikings have had one of the top defenses in the NFL since Zimmer took over in 2014, he simply wants to see more from the group that's had very little turnover in personel.

"As I've told a few of them, they've been together for a while now," Zimmer said. "They think they're pretty good. So maybe we just go out and practice and not with the intensity level that we need to do or whatever."

Vikings training camp will go on for another week before the team heads to New Orleans to face the Saints on Friday, Aug. 9.
