Updated: November 19, 2019 01:53 PM

Vikings assistant head coach and offensive advisor Gary Kubiak met with reporters on Tuesday morning during this bye week. A popular figure, this is the first time he has done a media session in many weeks.

Kubiak touched on how he and offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski synergize, why quarterback Kirk Cousins is having so much success, whether he has the itch to be a head coach again, what makes running back Dalvin Cook so good, zone blocking, and more.

After a two-year coaching break, Kubiak joined the Vikings last winter. He has previously been the head coach of Houston and Denver, winning a Super Bowl with the latter.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has previously mentioned that Kubiak joining the staff is probably the best thing to happen to him in his six years here. Zimmer and Kubiak have an excellent relationship with Kubiak being an excellent sounding board, having experienced all there is as a head coach.
