Vikings coach Mike Zimmer spent time Monday morning with reporters, and the 15-yard personal foul penalties from Saturday's preseason loss vs. Jacksonville came up.

Zimmer said he sent the league the 15-yard penalty called on a Jags defender on what appeared to be a clean tackle on fullback C.J. Ham in the first half. Zimmer is seeking further clarity, and wants to know exactly how what appeared to be a textbook tackle wasn't in the eyes of the officials.

Vikings safety Harrison Smith said he understands why the new helmet rule is in place, but said from a "rationale standpoint" some of them don't make sense. Said the new rules needs to be "physically possible."

Zimmer also touched on Daniel Carlson winning the kicker battle, and the impact of losing draft pick, DL Ade Aruna, for the season with a knee injury.
