Vikings WR Thielen sees growth with rookies

The Vikings got off to a good start defeating the New Orleans Saints 34-25 in their first preseason game Friday. Wide Receiver Adam Thielen has seen some growth with the rookies, including WR Olabisi Johnson who caught a touchdown in that game.

"The way those guys work trying to get better, it's not easy to come in from college and into the NFL and understand the system and how to use the little details to help your game. All those guys in the room have asked questions and they've been taking what they've learned in the meetings and have applied it to the field. That's the most impressive thing," said Thielen.

The player that's getting some headlines lately is rookie wide receiver Olabisi Johnson -- he had two catches for 35 yards against New Orleans.

"It's fun to see him go into the game and make plays. You can do everything right in practice, but you've got to make plays when the lights are on and he was able to do that," Thielen added.

The Vikings first home preseason game will take place on Sunday when they take on the Seattle Seahawks at 7:00 p.m.
