The Minnesota Timberwolves have two days to decide to match a three-year, $28 million offer sheet Tyus Jones signed with the Memphis Grizzlies late Sunday night.

Multiple reports of the signing were confirmed by Jones' agent Kevin Bradbury. "Ready for a great new opportunity. Congrats to my man (Tyus Jones)," Bradbury said in a tweet comment attached to a report of the offer sheet late Sunday night.

Jones, who recently turned 23, is an Apple Valley-native who has spent his entire four-year career with the Timberwolves since they acquired him in a draft night trade in 2015.

According to ESPN, the Timberwolves would remain $750,000 to $1-million below the NBA's luxury tax line if they choose to match the Grizzlies offer sheet and retain Jones.

Jones averaged 6.9 points and 4.8 assists for the Timberwolves last season, playing a career high 23 minutes per game.

He started the final 15 games of the season after injuries sidelined Derrick Rose and Jeff Teague, and averaged 11.2 points and 7.3 assists per game during that stretch.

Jones also set an NBA record with a 7.0 assist-to-turnover ratio in 2018-19, breaking the record of 6.14 set in the 2001-02 season by another Timberwolves guard - Terrell Brandon.

At one point, Jones played 129 minutes without committing a turnover.  That was the longest such run among NBA point guards all season.
