Apple Valley-grad Tyus Jones is a member of the Memphis Grizzlies after the Minnesota Timberwolves declined to match an offer sheet.

First reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski just as the 11 p.m. CT deadline arrived Tuesday night, the Timberwolves had 48-hours to come to a decision after Jones signed the 3-year, $28M offer sheet with Memphis on Sunday night.

Exactly as the deadline arrived, the Timberwolves released a statement from new President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas:

"We sincerely thank Tyus for his contributions on the court and Tyus and the entire Jones family for their genuine impact on the Twin Cities community. We wish them nothing but the best in Memphis.”

Jones spent the first four seasons of his NBA career with the Timberwolves after they acquired him in a draft night deal in 2014.

He is now part of the Grizzlies major offseason roster overhaul.
