Reports: Twins sign former Rangers LHP Martin Perez

The Twins have signed lefthanded starting pitcher Martin Perez, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports it's a one-year deal for approximately $3.5 million with a team option for a second year.

Perez is a native of Venezuela and turns 28 this June.

He was infamously injured in a run-in with a bull prior to last season. 

Making his debut with Texas in June 2012, Perez has spent all seven of his major league seasons with the Rangers.

Perez appeared in 22 games (15 starts) last year going 2-7 with a 6.22 ERA. He has a career record of 43-49 in 128 starts and a career ERA of 4.63.
