A team source has confirmed to KSTP Sports that the Twins have agreed to a deal with free agent utility man Marwin Gonzalez. ESPN reports that it's a 2-year deal worth $21 million. He's expected to receive $12 million this year.

Gonzalez, who will turn 30 before the start of the season, played a career-high 145 games this past season, hitting .247 with 16 home runs and 68 RBIs for Houston. He's a switch-hitter, and he can play any position, outside of catcher. He mostly played left field and the middle infield for the Astros last year.

Over the last two years, Gonzalez has played all of the outfield and infield positions. With the Twins this year, he's expected to play everywhere. In other words, they'll find a way to get him at least 500 plate appearances.

His best season came in 2017 when he hit .303 with 23 home runs and 90 RBIs. It is worth noting that Houston's home is a very hitter-friendly ballpark.

He has also played in a lot of playoff games, and won a World Series with Houston in 2017.
