The player on the Twins who might be the most grateful player in camp is pitcher Martin Perez.

KSTP's Joe Schmit sat down with him in Fort Myers.

Perez is pitching for the Twins, and for his country. A native of Venezuela, he's glued to what's going on right now in his native land with all the political unrest.

Perez has spent time in camp with former Twin Johan Santana, who's also from Venezuela.

The Twins signed Perez as a free agent away from the Rangers. They gave him a 1-year deal worth a bit over $3 million. He'll be their No. 5 starter.
