A source confirms to KSTP's Darren 'Doogie' Wolfson that the Twins are close to reaching a verbal agreement with free agent reliever Blake Parker. For the deal to be official, Parker will have to pass a physical. It'll be a 1-year deal for around $3.2 million.

Parker was non-tendered by the Angels at the end of November. He had a good 2017 and last year pitched pretty well, gathering 14 saves and posting a 3.26 ERA through 66 1/3 innings.

Parker could potentially close for the Twins. The Twins also control his rights in 2020.
