A graduate of Wayzata high school and the University of Minnesota, Wolves interim coach Ryan Saunders has deep connections in the Twin Cities.

We caught up with three individuals who know him very well: former Wolves center Cole Aldrich, former college roommate and teammate with the Gophers, Spencer Tollackson, and former Wolves radio voice Chad Hartman.

Aldrich's relationship with Saunders goes back to high school when he played for the AAU team, Minnesota Magic, and Saunders coached him.

Tollackson and Saunders are the same age and knew each other even before playing together for the Gophers.

Hartman used to call La Crosse Catbirds games when Ryan's dad, Flip, was the coach. So Hartman knew Ryan when he was a toddler and used to go over to the Saunders' house for dinner.
