Simley football cruises by DeLaSalle behind RB Hope Adebayo

The Simley High School Spartans defeated the DeLaSalle Islanders 35-12 at DeLaSalle High Friday evening.



Simley opened up the scoring when RB Hope Adebayo bursted out for a 65-yard touchdown run to put the Spartans up 7-0 in the first quarter. On their next possession, senior quarterback Shane Prifrel found junior wideout Ruot Jioklow for a 30-yard touchdown catch to put Simley up 14-0.

However, following an interception, DeLaSalle would answer back when senior quarterback James Pfarr scored on a 15-yard run to cut the lead to 14-6.

But, on the ensuing kickoff, Adebayo would return the kick for a touchdown to put Simley back up 21-6 early in the second quarter.

Late in the second, DeLaSalle would score on a 14-yard catch from Miles Camery to cut the Spartan lead to 21-12.

The score would remain 21-12 until the fourth quarter when Adebayo would score yet again, this time on a 28-yard run on 4th down to put Simley up 28-12 with just over 10 minutes left.

Sophomore devensive back Josh Painter would put the final touch on the game when he returned an interception for a score to make it 35-12 in favor of Simley.
