Vikings Waive Rookie Kicker Daniel Carlson, Sign Dan Bailey: 1500ESPN Vikings Coverage

The Minnesota Vikings acted quickly after rookie Daniel Carlson missed three field goals against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

The team confirmed in a tweet Monday afternoon that Carlson had been waived.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero also reported the team has waived Carlson. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Monday that the team planned to bring in veteran Dan Bailey for a physical.

Ian Rapaport of the NFL Network is reporting they will sign veteran kicker Dan Bailey.

Bailey, 30, has made 88.2 percent of his career field goals. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.

The Vikings selected Carlson in the fifth round of this year's NFL Draft. He beat veteran Kai Forbath for the job this preseason.
