Rashod Bateman named Big Ten Receiver of the Year

Seven players on the University of Minnesota Gophers football team earned postseason All-Big Ten honors.

Five of those players were on the offensive side of the ball, including sophomore receiver Rashod Bateman and senior receiver Tyler Johnson, who both earned All-Big Ten First Team honors. Defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr. joined them on the All-Big Ten First Team on the defensive side of the ball.

Bateman was also named the Big Ten's Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year, the first Gopher in school history to be named the best receiver in the conference.

Winfield Jr. was also named the Tatum-Woodson Defensive Back of the Year. He is the first Gopher to receive the award.

On Tuesday, head coach P.J. Fleck was also named the Hayes-Schembechler Coach of the Year by conferences coaches.
