Pro Boxing to Return to Minneapolis Armory in Nationally Televised Event in August

July 17, 2018 06:02 PM

World-ranked local boxers Jamal James and Caleb Truax are set to fight at the Minneapolis Armory on August 24 with FS1 and FOX Deportes nationally televising the bouts.

James (23-1) is from Minneapolis and is ranked number 3 in the world by the World Boxing Association. He will take on an opponent to be named. On April 13, James wowed a packed house at the Armory, digging deep for a thrilling majority decision win over rugged Abel Ramos.

Another win would move him a step closer to his dream of fighting for a world championship and bringing the belt home to Minnesota – much like his friend Truax did last year.

Truax (29-4-2) is from Osseso and returns to the ring for the first time since April 7, when he lost the IBF championship in a close decision against former titleholder James DeGale of England. Truax will face Fabiano Pena of Brazil. This will be Truax's first fight in Minnesota since August 2017 and his first in Minneapolis since January 2014.

The weigh in for the fights is set for August 23. Tickets are set to go on sale on Friday.
