1-on-1 with Wild GM Paul Fenton on Zucker trade rumors, more

Updated: June 27, 2019 02:40 PM

We caught up with Wild general manager Paul Fenton at this week's prospects camp.

We asked him about the Jason Zucker trade rumors, how Matt Dumba and Mikko Koivu are doing coming back from major surgeries, why his team struggled to score so much from mid-December on, and much more.

While Fenton can't comment on specific players, sources have told KSTP that the Wild have interest in free agent forwards Joe Pavelski and Wayne Simmonds, and still remain interested in working out a trade for Phil Kessel of the Penguins.

The Wild have around $18 million in cap space, with the free agent courting period well underway. Free agents can officially sign with their new teams next week.
