Minnesota Wild officials are changing the rules on how fans will be able to get into games as well as how they handle ticketing.

The changes start Tuesday with preseason games.

From here on out, fans will need to have their tickets pulled up on their smartphones upon entry. The team is transitioning to mobile entry only for all home games.

Fans must download the free NHL app from the app store and select "Minnesota Wild" as their favorite team. On game days, fans will then be able to pull up their tickets on the app. Team officials want fans to know they cannot use a screenshot of a digital ticket at the gate.

Officials say those changes will make ticketing safer and more efficient.

Meanwhile, new bag policies went into effect last year for the Wild.

Fans can only bring in small, clear totes or plastic storage bags. The only exception to that would be a small clutch purse no bigger than the size of a hand.

Fans are also not permitted to carry in selfie sticks or noise makers.

Additionally, those who leave the Xcel for any reason, including to go outside and smoke, will not be allowed back in.
