Wild-Jets Monday Report: Jared Spurgeon Still Waiting on Final Clearance for Game 1

April 09, 2018 02:48 PM

The Wild returned to the practice ice after a day off, with Game 1 vs. the Winnipeg Jets coming on Wednesday night. Defenseman Jared Spurgeon, out since mid-March with a hamstring injury, skated. He was to meet with the team doctor later on Monday to see if he can get clearance to play on Wednesday.

The Wild recalled defenseman Carson Soucy. Look for him to be paired with Spurgeon, if Dr. Joel Boyd gives the go-ahead.

The Wild are in the playoffs for the sixth year in a row, while the Jets are in for the 1st time since the 2014-2015 season when they were swept by Anaheim in the 1st round.
