Minnesota Whitecaps win Isobel Cup in overtime

Former Gophers defensemen Lee Stecklein scored 49 seconds into overtime as the Minnesota Whitecaps beat Buffalo 2-1 in the National Womens' Hockey League championship game at TRIA Rink in St. Paul.

Whitecaps goalie Amanda Leveille made 22 saves and Amy Menke scored Minnesota's first goal of the game in the first period.

The Whitecaps claim the Isobel Cup in their inaugural season in the NWHL.
