Minnesota Twins' $5 flash sale tickets sold out, over 30K tickets sold

The Minnesota Twins, who own the best record in Major League Baseball (23-12), announced on Thursday that the full allotment for $5 tickets for 12 May home games have sold out in less than 48 hours of the club's flash sale, according to a release by the organization. 

After 20,000 U.S. Bank Home Run Porch view and Grandstand seats were purchased between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Wednesday, an additional 12,000 Ballpark Access tickets were bought from 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to 4 p.m. Thursday.

Twins President and CEO Dave St. Peter issued the following statement, praising fans:

"We applaud Twins fans for their wonderful response in celebrating this exciting start by our first-place club. We now look forward to welcoming the team back home, and turning Target Field into the place to be this May and throughout the summer."

The Twins, who have gone 11-5 at Target Field thus far in 2019, open a seven-game homestand Friday night against the Detroit Tigers. 

The team's following home games in May goes as follows:

  • May 10-13 vs. Detroit Tigers (doubleheader on Saturday)
  • May 13-15 vs. Los Angeles Angels
  • May 24-26 vs. Chicago White Sox
  • May 27-28 vs. Milwaukee Brewers
