The Minnesota Timberwolves announced in a release on Thursday the signing of center Naz Reid to a multi-year contract.

The terms of the agreement were not released.


Reid, 19, played for the Timberwolves in the NBA Summer League is Las Vegas this summer, averaging 11.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in just over 18 minutes through seven games. He recorded 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the Wolves' 90-87 victory over the Miami Heat on July 10. The LSU-alum also had a team-high 20 points in Minnesota's semifinal win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.

The six-foot-10 center played in 34 games for the LSU Tigers as a freshman in 2018-2019, averaging 13.6 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds in 27.2 minutes, according to the release. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team after leading the Tigers to the SEC regular-season championship and a Sweet 16 berth.

Reid is also a five-star recruit from Roselle, New Jersey.
