It's week five of the area college football season. And here are a few of the key games to watch this week.

Bethel (1-1 MIAC, 1-3 overall) at St. John's (1-1 MIAC, 3-1 overall), 1 p.m. Saturday


The Johnnies look to rebound after falling 20-17 to St. Thomas before over 37,000 people last week at Target Field. St. John's, which fell to No. 9 in this week's national poll, had just one yard rushing in that matchup. The Royals are coming off their first victory of the season - a 64-7 win over St. Olaf last week. Bethel took to the air against the Oles. Sophomore quarterback Jake Marsh threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns.

Upper Iowa (0-0 NSIC South, 3-1 overall) at Winona State (0-0 NSIC South, 4-0 overall), 1 p.m. Saturday

Winona State, ranked No. 25 in one Division II national poll, rolled past Minot State 47-7 last week. Junior running back Eric Birth rushged for 103 yards and the Warriors put up 335 as a team in a game in which they were without senior quarterback Darren Beenken

St. Scholastica (3-0 UMAC, 3-1 overall) at Northwestern (Minn.) (2-1 UMAC, 2-2 overall), 1 p.m. Saturday

After falling 98-0 at St. John's in their season opener, the Saints have won three games in a row, including a 37-3 victory over Minnesota-Morris last week. This week brings a matchup against last season's UMAC champions. The Eagles beat Westminster 10-7 a week ago.
