Vikings Coach Zimmer Previews Sunday's Game vs. NY Jets

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer met with reporters on Wednesday morning, as preparations for the 3-3 Jets are underway.

Zimmer said he's impressed by Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, who had 280 yards passing and two touchdowns in last week's win over the Colts. Darnold has completed 75 percent or more of his passes in two of his six games.

The Vikings (3-2-1) enter Week 7 ranked 10th in the NFL in total yards per game with 391.2. Receiver Adam Thielen is on a record-breaking pace, recording 58 catches, the most in NFL history through six games. His 712 yards is also tops in the league.

The Jets could be without top cornerback Trumaine Johnson, and will for sure be without starting safety Marcus Maye. In other words, the Vikings should be in a position to have success through the air.

Zimmer also said that defensive end Everson Griffen (personal reasons) remains away from the team.

Kickoff Sunday at MetLife Stadium is at noon.
