Mike Zimmer sees improvements in the passing game

Kirk Cousins threw three of his four touchdowns passes to Stefon Diggs, racking up a season-high 333 passing yards, as the Vikings took advantage of a depleted Eagles secondary on Sunday.

Diggs scored on plays in the first half that covered 51 and 62 yards, becoming the first player since Randy Moss in 2000 to post two touchdown catches of 50-plus yards in one game for the Vikings. The Eagles surrendered 300-plus passing yards for the fourth time in six games.

"I’ve been saying for a long time that play actions makes it harder on a defense, and we showed it yesterday," Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said on Monday. "I think almost all of those big plays were play actions. If they’re going to take the free safety out of the middle, you have a chance to hit some real deep ones, and if they keep him back you have the chance to hit some intermediate ones."
