Larry Fitzgerald Jr.'s football camp remains a hit in the Twin Cities

Updated: July 15, 2019 05:42 PM

Over 400 campers participated in Larry Fitzgerald Jr.'s Football ProCamp at the Academy of Holy Angels on Monday morning. Kids from grades 1-8 spent the day with Fitzgerald learning how to run drills, as well as the importance of teamwork in the many stations around the football complex in Richfield.

"Every year I do this it continues to grow. I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to be able to share my time with these kids the way I was able to learn the game from players I used to watch when I was growing up," says Fitzgerald Jr.

Fitzgerald has done this camp over the past six years and he has tried to emulate the camps he used to attend and that motivation has driven it to where it is today.

"I remember going to Randall McDaniel, John Randle and Cris Carter's camps and I used to think how great it was to have hands on instruction from all of those guys. Once I had the chance to put my camp together I knew I was going to give back the way those guys did and fortunately this camp gets bigger and better every year," Fitzgerald adds.

Fitzgerald Jr. will be playing in his 16th NFL season with the Arizona Cardinals and will likely be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame when his playing days are over.
