Hrbek impressed with how Twins are playing

Twins fans showed up in full force to get an autograph from Twins legend Kent Hrbek Thursday night at Fan HQ in Eden Prairie.

"They're probably coming out to support me because they're happy about how their team's playing," Hrbek joked.

Hrbek, who played his entire MLB career with the Twins, is impressed with what the first-place Twins are doing in 2019.

"We haven't had good baseball like this around here for awhile.  Makes for a good atmosphere, not only at the ballpark, but around the city."

Hrbek won two World Series championships with the Twins in 1987 and 1991.

"They have a different kind of ball club than we did. As far as offensive numbers, way past what we ever did. They've got a long ways to go before they win a championship, but it's a good start for them."

The Twins return from the All-Star break on Friday with a three-game series at second-place Cleveland.
