Thibodeau on Butler: 'We Are Going to Honor His Request'

Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau said the team will do its best to accommodate a trade request from All-Star Jimmy Butler.

But he added the franchise has to get value in return.

Thibodeau addressed the media Tuesday after the team's first day of training camp.

"We're going to honor (Butler's) request," he said. "But we're not going to make a bad deal."

Thibodeau went on to say he "didn't want to keep talking about that," and instead wanted to talk about the players at training camp Tuesday. 

"First day is always exciting, a little choppy... but that's why you need to move forward quickly," he said.
