Hopkins girls basketball ready to defend state championship

The Hopkins Royals girls basketball team is the defending Class 4A state champions. They all have their eyes set on a repeat, led by senior star Paige Bueckers.

The Royals are led by their senior star, and University of Connecticut commit, Paige Bueckers.They also have a budding star in sophomore forward Maya Nnaji, who holds scholarship offers from over 15 Division 1 programs. 

Head coach Brian Cosgriff is focused on one game at a time, but believes he has a team capable of winning state again.

Hopkins also has other college-level players, including three others who hold offers from the Gophers.

A recent national rankings service listed Hopkins as the No. 2 team in the country.
