A high school pitcher got the game-winning strikeout, but afterward, there was something more important to do than celebrating.

The game was the section baseball final between Mounds View and Totino-Grace.

Mounds View pitcher Ty Koehn got the strikeout to end it.

As his team poured onto the field to celebrate, he rushes to the batter he struck out.

Turns out the two are childhood friends, and Koehn took time to console his old buddy before joining his team's celebration.

Mounds View opens the state tournament on Thursday.
