Hamline women's hockey shuts out St. Thomas, advances to National Championship

The University of Hamline Pipers women's hockey team defeated the University of St. Thomas Tommies 3-0 to advance to the Division III National Championship game.

The Pipers came out the gates firing and jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead following a goal from senior forward Becca Zarembinski just over a 90 seconds in. Still attacking, junior forward Bre Simon scored to put Hamline up 2-0 with not even three minutes of the game played. 

In the second period, Pipers sophomore forward Madison Kolbow scored following a great assist from Olivia Arkell to put Hamline up 3-0. 

Hamline would hold on to win 3-0 and advance to the Division III National Championship game against Plattsburgh State. 

The game is at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Arena in Mendota Heights.
