A former five-star recruit is set to join the University of Minnesota women's basketball program.
A release from the school said 6-foot-2 forward Kadiatou Sissoko, who spent her freshman season at Syracuse, has decided to transfer. The native of Paris will have to sit out next season because of NCAA eligibility rules, but will then have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Sissoko was ranked No. 10 overall by ESPN in the 2018 recruiting class. The release said that makes her the highest-ranked player to play for the Gophers in at least the last 12 years.
She appeared in 22 games and started one for Syracuse last season, averaging 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds.
