The Gophers softball team beat LSU 3-0 on Saturday to advance to the Women's College World Series for the first time in program history.

The Gophers swept the best of three NCAA Super Regional at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium in Minneapolis.

Gophers ace Amber Fiser pitched a complete game 3-hit shutout in Saturday's win and shortstop Allie Arneson hit a solo home run.

The Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma begins Thursday, May 30. 

The 7th seeded Gophers will play No. 2 UCLA at 1:30 p.m. (central) on Thursday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. The WCWS is a double-elimination format until the championship round, which is best two-out-of-three.
