Gophers have another chance Saturday for second signature win

The Gophers probably need at least four more wins to feel secure on Selection Sunday. Getting one at Michigan State Saturday would help a ton.

MSU is 18-5 overall, 9-3 in the Big Ten and ranked No. 9 in the Associated Press poll, No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches poll. Minnesota is 16-7 overall, 6-6 in the Big Ten and unranked.

The Gophers have dropped two straight games, at Purdue and home vs. Wisconsin. However, they did lead in West Lafayette in the second half. The Gophers also had a chance to win at Michigan earlier this season. Michigan, Purdue, and Michigan State are widely considered the top-3 teams in the conference, with the Badgers right behind.

The Spartans are suddenly reeling though, having dropped three straight after a 9-0 start to Big Ten play.

Gametime Saturday from Michigan State is at 1 p.m.
