"We are obviously disappointed in Eric's recent setback," Pitino said. "He has worked so hard and stayed positive throughout this whole process.  He is still a valuable member and leader on this team.  I can't wait to get him back, better than ever next year."

Curry, a redshirt junior, will undergo surgery next week and will miss the upcoming 2019-2020 season.

The Memphis, Tennessee native has struggled with injuries throughout his Gophers career. After redshirting the 2017-18 season due to a summer knee injury, a second operation forced him to miss the first several weeks of last season. After returning in January, he injured his foot, limiting him to just 15 games.
