The Gophers, the 10-seed in the East, play Louisville, the 7-seed. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Thursday. If the Gophers win, they'd likely play 2-seed Michigan State and that game would be on Saturday. They can be in the same initial pod as a Big Ten team since they only played the Spartans once in the regular season.

The Gophers have only one NCAA Tourney win since their 1997 Final Four run. That was in 2012 when Tubby Smith was coach and they beat UCLA. Smith was fired a few days later.
