Gophers' Washington to transfer

Gophers guard Isaiah Washington announced on Twitter Monday that he'll transfer away from the University of Minnesota.

Washington only played 16.2 minutes per game in his sophomore season and averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 assists per game.

He was a 4-star recruit coming out of St. Raymond's High School in Harlem, New York and even won New York's Mr. Basketball award as a high school senior. Washington will have to sit out a season before being eligible for the final two seasons of his college career.
