Gophers come from behind to beat Niagara 4-2

Nathan Burke broke a 2-2 tie in the third period as the Gophers men's hockey team beat Niagara 4-2 Saturday night at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Niagara jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 35 seconds into the first period, but goals by Sammy Walker and Brannon McManus had the Gophers ahead 2-1 after two periods.

Reed Robinson scored 1:04 into the third period for Niagara and the game was once again tied.  Burke's game-winner came at 5:09 mark of the third and was his first goal of the young season.  

Scott Reedy added an empty-net goal for Minnesota as they completed the weekend sweep on their home ice. Gophers goalie Jared Moe made 20 saves.

The Gophers are now 3-1 this season. They play a home-and-home series with the UMD Bulldogs next weekend.
